'Preventative lockdown' lifted at Okemos High School following threat report

Okemos High School was placed on “preventative lockdown” following reports of a possible threat on the premises. After a search of school property, there was no indication of weapons or violence, according to Chief Rick Grillo of Meridian Township Police. 

"Everyone is physically safe," Okemos Public Schools Superintendent John Hood said in a press conference following the all clear from public safety officials. Hood also clarified that classes would resume following the incident. 

First responders arrived quickly to the scene to search the premises, and left the site shortly after 11:40 a.m.
